Sackville Street
From 19 June – 10 July
Sewer works to be carried out on Sackville Street road closures and diversions will be in operation in the area.
Metrolink
Metrolink Utility Trial Hole Investigations – Cross Street
Monday 17 June 2013 for 5 weeks
The purpose of these works is to locate existing utilities services to enable the planning and design of utilities diversions required in advance of the main construction works for the proposed Metrolink Second City Crossing.
From the week commencing Monday 17 June 2013 the works will take approximately 5
weeks to complete. The works will involve digging a number of narrow trenches in the
footways and carriageways progressively along Cross Street. Each trench will take
approximately 2 to 3 days to excavate and reinstate. This work will take place between 8am
and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
During these works, there will be various parking bay suspensions, lane narrowing, footpath
narrowing and the use of temporary traffic lights along Cross Street. Pedestrian and
business/property access along the footway will be maintained at all times. There will be no
need for anyone to access your property without prior arrangement.
Long Millgate Street
Overnight work will be carried to install utility service ducts under the existing tram tracks. These work will start from approximately 11pm Saturday 15 June until 5am Monday 17 June 2013.
Hanover Street
We will be carrying out utility investigations to locate existing services. This will take place between 8am and 6pm on Tuesday 18 June 2013 and Wednesday 19 June 2013.
Balloon Street
We will be carrying out utility investigations. This will take place between 8am and 6pm on Tuesday 18 June 2013 and Wednesday 19 June 2013. Following these investigations, we will be installing utility service ducts under the tram tracks. This works will take place from the Monday 1 July 2013 for approximately 5 weeks.

Mosley Street Metrolink stop is permanently closing from Saturday 18 May 2013. The closure will enable Metrolink to run yellow trams as double trams and to improve the service as the network grows.

Great Ancoats
From 10 June for approximately 2 months
Sewer works to be carried out on Pollard Street and Longacre Street will include road closures and diversions in the area.
Corporation Street and Withy Grove
22 April – 2 August 2013
In order to facilitate Utility Services works Corporation Street will become one way from Withy Grove to Miller Street in that direction.
Alternative routes:
- Cheetham Hill Road, Newbridge Street, Victoria Street, Hunts Bank, Victoria Station Approach and Todd Street
- Corporation Street, Angel Street, Rochdale Road, Shudehill and Withy Grove
Victoria Station advanced-works
As part of pre-works for the upcoming Victoria Station development, a number of Utilities diversions will be required.

22 April for a period of 12 to 16 weeks:
A temporary one-way system is to be introduced to include Withy Grove and Corporation Street. This will result in vehicles accessing Withy Grove via Shudehill, and exiting via Corporation Street.
During this period there will also be a need for restrictions on Todd Street (2 weeks) and the closure of Corporation St (2 weeks) beyond the automatic bollards.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) are project managing these diversions and their communications team will be contacting businesses in the affected area directly.

Changes to parking in Manchester city centre
Parking meters
From Monday 24 October 2011, charges were applied to marked parking spaces from 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday, adding an extra two hours in the evening, and also all day Sunday.
One hour maximum stay spaces will be extended to two hours maximum stay.
Once parked, drivers can return to ‘top up’ their ticket as long as they don’t exceed the maximum time stated on the meter.
Single yellow lines and loading bays
From Monday 24 October 2011, parking on single yellow lines is only be allowed 8pm-8am.
New hours of operation to shared use spaces: please check signage upon arrival
Parking in marked spaces
This will continue to be free of charge on Bank Holidays.
Other changes will also apply
New pricing structure – pay for each 30 minutes (rather than per 15 minutes)
Residents parking changes to make permits valid Mon-Fri 8am-9am and 5pm-8pm, and all day Saturday and Sunday.
