The Lancastrian classic stew made this time with Cumbrian lamb, potato, carrot and onion with a hint of rosemary, accompanied with pickled red cabbage.

The Famous Corned Beef Hash
10 days in the making to the Chop House’s own secret recipe, served with sautéed potatoes and creamed onions.

Shropshire Chicken & Leek ‘Pot Pie’
Farm-reared chicken and Seddon leeks cooked in a creamy Suffolk cider sauce with mature cheddar cheese and thyme, baked under a puff pastry top.

Shepherd’s Pie
Slow-cooked, minced and minted Cumbrian lamb with root vegetables, topped with creamy mashed potato served with pickled red cabbage.

Chop House Butter Chicken Curry
Mild Punjabi-spiced chicken in a tomato, butter and cream sauce, served with steamed basmati and cardamom rice.

Fish

‘Kedgeree’ with Loch Duart Salmon
An adopted Victorian dish of curried rice, parsley and boiled egg served with sustainable salmon fillet from the crofting village of Scourie, Sutherland in north-west Scotland.

Cullen Skink
Traditional ‘soup’ from the town of Cullen in Moray. A thick creamy broth of potatoes, onions and leeks cooked in milk topped with flaked fillet of Scottish smoked haddock.

Vegetarian

Mushroom ‘Cobbler’
Slow-cooked flat field, chestnut and oyster mushrooms cooked in Quicke’s Cheddar cheese (from Newton St Cyres in Devon) and tarragon sauce, topped with cheesy walnut scones.

‘Superfood’ Biriyani
Indian-spiced brown rice with sweet potato, broccoli, kale, cauliflower, butternut squash, shitake mushrooms and spinach, served with chopped boiled egg and cucumber raita.

Welsh Leek & Potato Crumble
Local leeks and potatoes cooked in a delicate Caerphilly cheese sauce, baked under a golden oat crumble.

Drinks

CityCo offers our clients filtered water free-of-charge and unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits for £3.75 pp +VAT (£2.25 +VAT for half a day room hire).

We are a licensed venue. If you would like to see a wine/fizz/beer menu from the Chop House bar, just let us know.

Dietary Requirements

We cannot guarantee that nuts or nut traces will not be found in the Albert Square Chop House food.
