CityCo and Manchester BID run a programme of corporate events and through our city forums and business training we help members to have their opinion heard and operate effectively. We support Manchester’s major civic events and festivals and run our own flagship public events to bring people into the city.

Business Training

CityCo and Manchester BID (Business Improvement District) invite our networks to a range of free, or discounted, training workshops to help members operate confidently, and with resilience, in a constantly changing city.

From reception desks, to operational teams, to the boardroom, we provide the practical tools needed to address business priorities and concerns. We ensure city-wide colleagues have the right knowledge, from the right Manchester agencies.

Counter-Terrorism Training: ACT Awareness
A national awareness initiative for business produced by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) to increase the awareness of the threat from terrorism and explore the tools available to help protect our communities. It aims to increase the confidence of front-line staff when responding to a terrorist attack. Training topics include the current threat level, prevention strategies, hostile reconnaissance, methods of attack and how to respond.

Counter-Terrorism Training: Project Argus
Project Argus is a table-top, scenario-based exercise designed to test the plans and policies of an organisation when responding to a terrorist attack. Recommended for those responsible for creating and maintaining security response plans, audio and visual clips will be used to illustrate the different stages of an unfolding attack, with delegates then required to consider their response to the situation. The training includes group discussions as well as providing best-practice guidance and signposting to further advice.

Delivered in partnership with Greater Manchester Police and the North West Counter-Terrorism Unit. Advisable for management and senior leadership staff.
