CityCo is The City Centre Management Company: we connect the people, projects and ideas that are driving forward the city centre economy.
We work in daily liaison with Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Police, Marketing Manchester, Manchester’s homelessness charity networks, and other statutory bodies.
Alongside CityCo services, we manage Manchester BID: a consortium of 400 leading retail and hospitality brands.
Both companies deliver a range of business services.

Manchester BID Events Programme
CityCo is currently delivering the second term (2018-2023) of Manchester Business Improvement District.
The BID aims to support city centre vibrancy and economic success by bringing retailers and restaurants together with each other – and Manchester’s public agencies. The aim is to enhance operations and help to attract additional custom.
The calendar is subject to development each year.
Events Producer Job Purpose and Responsibilities
As a member of the consumer events production team, the Events Producer will take a key role on the planning and delivery of large-scale public events to bring more people into city centre Manchester and raise the profile of the city as a destination where great things happen.
All events reflect the strategic objectives of Manchester Business Improvement District.
Key to the role is the ability to to plan and deliver a range of events across the year and support all aspects of operations and logistics as required, as well as being expected to work under own initiative on simultaneous tasks across several events, projects and development areas.
The Events Producer will work with other internal teams and will report directly to the Senior Events Producer.
Being highly organised and able to prioritise tasks is crucial. You will be responsible for planning and delivering detailed administrative tasks ensuring an auditable trail during pre- and post-production event phases.
You will also be required to carry out research on event themes and content and make recommendations for activities based on your research.
The ambition is to ensure Manchester BID consumer events are of the highest quality, are aspirational and appealing, will attract regional and national publicity, set standards in production, design and programming – and achieve against measurable targets.
The Events Producer will liaise with suppliers, contractors, and delivery partners to ensure the events are successful, safely delivered and attractive to future supporters.
Essential Core Competencies
- 4+ years’ experience planning and delivering successful creative large-scale events in a public realm or similar setting
- Advance knowledge of event logistics and operations
- Advance knowledge of Health & Safety legislation in events
- Brilliant organisational skills
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for aesthetic detail
- High quality design standards
- Superb written and oral communication skills
- Presentation, networking and negotiating skills

The requirements of the business are such that a high degree of flexibility is necessary and therefore evening and weekend working will be required.
To comply with changes in the legislation covering the activities of Manchester BID and CityCo it is required that all staff undertakes training as directed by their line manager or the Chief Executive.
It is also essential that all staff carry out their duties in a safe manner in accordance with the current Health & Safety at work legislation.
The role will be based at the main CityCo/ManchesterBID office at Lloyds House, Lloyd Street, Manchester with the expectation that many of the activities will take place in the public realm.
Annual leave entitlement of 26 days plus bank holidays.
This post is subject to a three-month probationary period.
