From April 2018 CityCo will deliver the second term of Manchester’s only Business Improvement District (BID) – Heart of Manchester. The BID consists of just over 400 retail and F&B businesses in the city centre’s core.
Running for a period of five years, the BID will deliver public events, and promotional and customer service initiatives on behalf of the city centre retailers. The event programme is built around six annual pillar events, including Halloween and the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Assistant Events Producer
As a key member of the production team, the Assistant Events Producer will support the planning and delivery of large scale public events that reflect the strategic objectives of the Heart of Manchester BID and CityCo.
The Assistant Events Producer will work under the direction of the Events Producer and leadership from the Head of Events and Sponsorship, as well as being expected to work under their own initiative on simultaneous tasks across several projects and development areas.
Key to the role is to plan and deliver 2 events and support all aspects of operations and logistics required across the events portfolio. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a number of detailed administrative tasks, ensuring an auditable trail during pre and post production phases of the events. You will also be required to carry out research on event themes and content and make recommendations for event activity based on your research. You will be required to book artists, accommodation and travel as required.
The ambition is to ensure Manchester BID and CityCo consumer events are of the highest quality, are aspirational and appealing, will attract publicity, set standards in production, design and programming, and achieve against measurable targets.
The Assistant Events Producer will liaise with a number of contractors and delivery partners to ensure the events are highly successful, safely delivered and attractive to future partners and supporters.
Contract: 12 month (extension subject to review)

Salary: c.£20,000 per annum

The requirements of the business are such that a high degree of flexibility is necessary and therefore evening and weekend working will be required.
To comply with changes in the legislation covering the activities of Heart of Manchester BID and Cityco it is required that all staff undertakes training as directed by their line manager or the Chief Executive. It is also essential that all staff carry out their duties in a safe manner in accordance with the current Health & Safety at work legislation.
The role will be based at the main Cityco office in central Manchester with the expectation that many of the activities will take place at venues across the city and in the public realm.
Annual leave entitlement of 26 days plus bank holidays.
This post is subject to a six-month probationary period.
