Manchester BCRP

CityCo manages Manchester’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP), helping to create a safe and secure city for customers, staff and visitors by reporting and tackling business-related crime.

We support the work of Greater Manchester Police, Manchester and Salford Council Licensing Units and Anti-Social Behaviour teams to run a city centre Civil Exclusion Scheme. Thousands of crime incidents are recorded, persons identified and exclusion notices issued.

BCRP members can access StoreNet/NiteNet security radios connected to Manchester city centre’s CCTV room, and real-time intelligence via a secure online portal (DISC) to see data on offenders.

The team also delivers venue security training on topics including Crime Prevention and Conflict Avoidance, Fraud Prevention, Counterfeit Currency, Making Statements and Reporting.

CityCo’s Business Crime team has achieved annual ‘Accreditation with Distinction’ by the National Association of Business Crime Partnerships and received a Divisional Commanders Award from Greater Manchester Police to recognise the outstanding partnership work.
