About Manchester Business Improvement District

Supporting Manchester’s retail and hospitality economy.

Manchester BID is the city’s retail Business Improvement District. The BID aims to support city centre vibrancy and economic success by bringing retailers and restaurants together with each other and Manchester’s public agencies. The aim is to enhance operations and attract additional custom.

Manchester BID is managed by The City Centre Management Company, CityCo.

CityCo is the place where the public and private sectors meet. As an independent, not-for-profit, membership organisation, we are committed to representing the interests of our business members. We help organisations operate effectively, and with resilience, in our growing and changing city.

We connect people, projects and ideas to help drive forward the city centre economy.

Who We Are

Manchester BID is governed by a Board of Directors, led by Jane Sharrocks, General Managers of Selfridges Exchange Square.

The CityCo team delivers the BID Business Plan.

The team works in daily liaison with Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire Service, Marketing Manchester, Manchester’s homelessness charity network, and other statutory bodies.

Our extensive cross-sector networks allow for the sharing of city plans, discussion and action-planning around developments, business challenges and opportunities.

What We Do

Alongside our many associations, Manchester BID is a founding member of the national and regional BID Foundation and Northern BIDs Group.

Manchester BID is also a member of British BIDs and works with the Association of Town Centre Management.
