|Conservative Party Conference 2021: The CPC will be taking place at Manchester Central from 3rd – 6th October. CityCo is working with the venue, Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council on preparations and communications. Changes to Pavement and Venue Licences in Manchester: Changes include a new £100 fee to apply for a pavement licence, updated guidance on outdoor heaters and compulsory conditions related to Martyn’s Law. This will require venues to complete a security assessment, and for staff to attend counter-terrorism training. CityCo is partnering with Council Licensing and GMP to run group training. Clean Air GM: The Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone is expected to launch on Monday 30 May 2022. It will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round. Private cars are not included in the proposed zone. Applications for financial support to move to cleaner commercial vehicles will open from November 2021. Follow our LinkedIn and Twitter for alerts.
Climate Change Survey: Members are invited view Manchester’s Climate Change Framework 2020-25 – the city’s high-level strategy for tackling climate change. It sets out how Manchester will play its part in helping to reduce the impact of climate change. The framework will map out the actions needed to meet 2025 targets. Heart Safe Scheme: Manchester has a defibrillator network that ensures potentially life-saving equipment is located at locations across the city centre. In support of the scheme, North West Ambulance Service and CityCo are running an audit of defibs and their use. Our new member Steroplast are supporting.
