COVID-19: Business Brief from Manchester City Council

17th Dec 2021

Vaccines

Manchester City Council is asking everyone to get their vaccines if they haven’t already and to get a booster if you can – it’s not too late. They are asking employers to encourage their staff to book an appointment via the national booking system (those 18+ can now do this) or visit one of the local pop up vaccination clinics. There are a number of these across Manchester, including in the City Centre, Newton Heath, and Whalley Range. There are options for you and your staff to go at lunchtime, or after work.

The Employer Toolkit has information about supporting your staff to get the booster.

Volunteering

There is a great need to get everyone in Manchester vaccinated (first, second and booster doses) as we go into Christmas. We all need to pull together and think of each other. Please consider releasing your staff to help with the volunteer effort. Register here to get involved.

Covid Pass Regulations

The new COVID Pass regulations came into effect at 6am on Thursday 15 December.

This means that certain organisations (event organisers, venues, businesses) are now required to use COVID-19 status checks as a condition of entry.

Whether these will affect you will depend on the nature of your business and/or the nature of any event you are carrying on. Please see the Government Guidance for carrying out mandatory COVID-19 checks at your venue.
