Cordon Reduced

A reduced cordon remains in place, extending around the vicinity of Victoria Station and Manchester Arena, which remains a crime scene. New Cathedral Street and Exchange Square are accessible.

Counter-Terrorism Awareness Training

Following this morning’s Briefing we can announce we are running a Counter-Terrorism Awareness workshop on Friday 16th June at Manchester Central. We would recommend this for operational, security and front of house staff alongside management.

Due to the sensitivity of this training we will require full names of all attendees beforehand and an ID check will take place on the day.

Manchester city centre is open for business. GMP have advised businesses to be calm but vigilant, and to review bespoke security and evacuation procedures as a matter of course.

Manchester City Council has a Rough Sleeper Team who are providing support and guiding people into services.
