Operational Support

CityCo and Manchester BID help to address challenges that impact on day-to-day business operations. We work on behalf of members, and with partners, to identify business needs, make recommendations, offer support and develop action plans.

We can help with a range of operational challenges and help businesses maximise the many opportunities of working in the city centre.

Areas we regularly assist with include:

  • Localised environmental issues around premises or business locations
  • Street cleansing, including jet washing
  • Bins
  • Commercial waste, litter, and graffiti removal
  • Street bollards
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Begging
  • Rough-sleeping
  • Parking
  • The impact of major events
  • The impact of development works
  • The impact of street protests
  • Road closures; temporary and longer-term.

We run operational sessions for members, including counter-terrorism awareness training, urban resilience guidance, and workshops on how best to address ‘urban exploring’ (trespassing).

CityCo is acting as a key board member of the Manchester Homelessness Partnership, supporting the complex work going on to help Manchester’s most vulnerable, including rough sleepers.

We bring the right people together to help our business networks find solutions to day-to-day and longer-term urban challenges.
