CityCo is The City Centre Management Company and we manage the city’s retail Business Improvement District (Manchester BID).

Our focus is to support Manchester growth by bringing businesses together with public agencies: to support the vibrancy and resilience of our city. We work in partnership with Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Police, Marketing Manchester, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Manchester’s homelessness charity network Street Support and other statutory bodies.

As a membership organisation, we represent business interests from all sectors and sizes, and ensure members are part of the evolving story of Manchester as a place to invest, work, visit and live.

We help our wide networks to have their opinion heard, expand activities and connect with the right people at the right time. We do this by offering a range of Business Services.

Manchester Business Improvement District

CityCo manages the city’s retail Business Improvement District: Manchester BID. The BID a consortium of 400 leading retailers and restaurant brands including Apple, Aldi, Barclays Bank, Boots, COS, Debenhams, Diesel, EE, El Gato Negro, GAP, Harvey Nichols, H&M, House of Fraser, Kala, Lloyds Bank, Monki, Nationwide, NEXT, Paperchase, Primark, Selfridges, TopShop, Virgin Money, Uniqlo, Waterstones and Wilko.

The BID spans Market Street, New Cathedral Street, Manchester Arndale, Exchange Square, Barton Arcade, St Ann’s Square, King Street and Deansgate.

The business plan delivers tourist information officers, operational and security support, city intel, and tourism marketing.

Business Crime Reduction Partnership

CityCo manages the city’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership: BCRP. The BCRP is a network of 350 day and night time businesses that access security assistance including major brands Adidas, Aldi, Apple, Belstaff, Boots, Burberry, COS, Costa Coffee, GAP, Greggs, H&M, Harvey Nichols, Levis, M&S, New Look, NEXT, O2, Sainsburys, Space NK, Spar, Tesco, TK Maxx, TopShop, Waterstones and Wilko.

The partnership manages a city centre Civil Exclusion Scheme to record crime incidents, identify persons and issue exclusion notices.

Members have access to StoreNet/NiteNet radios connected to the city centre’s CCTV room and are provided real-time, secure offender intelligence online.

Night Time Economy Network

CityCo brings night-time economy venues together with public authorities including Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Police. The network includes Manchester’s vibrant eating, drinking and dancing venues across Canal Street, Northern Quarter, Ancoats, Oxford Road, Deansgate and the central business district.
