The Street Engagement Hub
The Street Engagement Hub is a collaborative initiative dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals, especially those experiencing homelessness or engaging in anti-social behaviour on the streets of Manchester.
The Hub is a partnership between civil society and voluntary organisations, including CityCo, Mustard Tree, Manchester City Council and Greater Manchester Police. The Hub is set up to make sure that we can connect people to the right help and change people’s lives.
We invite partners to help with a Winter Clothing initiative that will provide real support to those in need.
Call for Clothing Donations
After a very wet summer and winter, the Hub’s stock of essential items has dwindled, and demand for certain items is rising.
By donating items that are in high demand, you can make a meaningful difference.
What to Donate
Please donate any items from the carefully selected essentials listed below:
Tracksuit Bottoms: Male 26-34in (S/M), Female 6-12 (XS-M)
T-Shirts: Male & Female various sizes
New Socks: Packaged, thermal type, Male & Female various sizes
New Underwear: Packaged, thermal type, Male & Female various sizes
Sweaters, Hoodies, Fleeces: Male, S-L, Female S-M
Where to Donate
Please drop off your donations, however big or small, at the Mustard Tree Ancoats hub:
Mustard Tree Ancoats
110 Oldham Road, M4 6AG (Retail hours: 10am – 2pm, Monday – Saturday)
Mustard Tree Warehouse Entrance
Yellow Shutters on Primrose Street (Drop-off hours: 9:30am – 3pm, Monday – Friday)
Give Helpfully – What Does it Mean?
Giving helpfully is all about donating items that will make a direct difference to those in need of them. For example, not just having a ‘wardrobe clear-out’ but consciously contributing what the experts know is in high demand. People arriving at The Hub, particularly from the street community, often have limited access to clean clothes.
Offering some dignity is key to the success of the Hub’s work. Providing individuals with what they genuinely need builds trust, confidence, and is core to our city’s values.
How to Share the Campaign
As CityCo stakeholders we are asking for your influence and support around the ‘Winter Ready’ campaign. Please encourage employees to get involved and give helpfully to this much needed cause – especially as the weather gets even colder.
To help, we’ve developed a host of materials that you can share with your employees:
- Digital and social media assets
- Poster to raise awareness which you can use digitally and/or print
- Background 1 pager about the Street Engagement Hub
- 1 pager on Winter Ready campaign
We would appreciate any social media support via your own channels. This might involve reposting some of our posts:
