ACT Awareness Training

This session is available to all Manchester city centre businesses.

ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) Awareness is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to public safety following the 2017 Manchester Arena attack.

The training is administrated by CityCo in partnership with Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Police and North West Counter Terrorism Unit.

It is delivered by trained advisors from Protect UK and the NPSA (National Protective Security Authority) and supported by Figen Murray OBE as part of her campaigning work on Martyn’s Law.

Training content is designed to raise vigilance around the current terrorist threat in the UK and provide practical protective advice and guidance.

Who Should Attend?

  • Operational Management Teams
  • Front of House and Security Teams
  • FM Teams
  • Any venue with a Publicly Accessible Location (PAL) who is preparing for Martyn’s Law
  • Anyone who believes their venue may fall under Martyn’s Law requirements.

  • Current Threat Landscape in the UK
  • Identifying & Responding to Suspicious Behaviour
  • Identifying & Dealing with Suspicious Items
  • Responding to a Firearms or Weapons Attack
  • Use of PAcT (Public Access Trauma) kits.
