Mutant mayhem has descended on Manchester as a city-wide street art trail is unveiled of much-loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters – Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello.
Hidden across the city, fans can find the turtles up to mischief, with the uniquely created hand-painted artwork that matches the new, distinct hand-drawn style of animation in the upcoming film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Fans will see Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey doing some of their favourite activities, including performing ninja tricks, tucking into pizza and skateboarding.
A team of six street artists Woskerski, Brezaux, Captain Kris, Oust, Reves One and Sidok, part of the Blank Walls artist collective, created the mini-murals over six days around the city taking a total of 192 hours and using 448 cans of paint. The trail was commissioned by Paramount Pictures, supported by Manchester City Centre BID.
The artwork has been unveiled ahead of the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, in cinemas July 31st, a new family action-comedy boasting a stellar cast of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Hannibal Buress, Rose Byrne, Nicolas Cantu, John Cena, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Natasia Demetriou, Ayo Edebiri, Giancarlo Esposito, Post Malone, Brady Noon, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Maya Rudolph.
After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.
The characters were first introduced to the world in 1984 through a comic book, and since then have become firm favourites with kids and teens all over the world through TV and film adaptations. The street art trail matches the new, impressive hand-drawn animation style we see in the upcoming film and will appeal to all the generations of fans who have grown up with the ninja turtles through the last four decades.
The full list of locations are:

Artwork will be on display until 15th August, with Exchange Square tram stop on display for a limited time until 8th August only.
