Manchester Business Improvement District has completed its recent ‘uplift’ programme of cleansing, deep-cleaning, repainting and jet-washing of the retail area – a partnership between the BID and facilities operators Adept Corporate Services and Ramora Facilities Management.
The scheme has been commissioned and funded by central retailers and hospitality venues: members of the BID.
Over the past few months, CityCo/BID’s Operations team have worked with colleagues to restore and clean-up street furniture, bollards, service boxes, street signs and lampposts. The initiative has also included adding and tending to planters, in association with Giraffe Flowers.
The project has been a commitment to improve the customer welcome and support our business networks in ensuring an optimal trading environment in the approach to the busy Christmas season.
Work has taken place from Market Street to Deansgate, St Ann’s Square, Cross St, St Mary’s Gate and King Street – along with side streets and alleyways and targeted locations around key office buildings and coworking spaces around Upper King Street, Spring Gardens, Marriot Court, Chapel Walks, York Street, Fountain Street and Norfolk Street.
153 bollards have been restored and repainted, 15 service boxes, 25 street signs and over 50 lampposts. More than 1000 additional bags of waste in the BID area have been removed. The dedicated daily litter-picking continues.
With thanks to our hard-working ‘clean-team’ Luke, Dougie and Raph.
