Lloyds House

CityCo is Manchester’s City Centre Management Company. Our Event & Meeting Spaces are set in a beautiful heritage building and we can cater for a range of events.

Whether for an away-day or presentation, interviews and training sessions, a conference, online meeting, or photoshoot – bring your colleagues to a stunning and unique venue.

The Shipping Office, Cotton Room and Sorting Room are on the top floor of Lloyd’s House and overlook Manchester’s iconic Town Hall. The redbrick building has a fascinating history. Designed by the architectural practice of Speakman and Charlesworth in 1867, the site was originally the home of the ‘Manchester Shipping Office and Packing Company Ltd.’ and was the city’s first purpose-built cotton warehouse.

When the Manchester cotton trade was enjoying its last boom, the firm built some of the largest and most ambitious warehouses in Manchester. The company owned and administered merchants’ warerooms and office space, and supplied labour, machinery, and space for loading, unloading, storing, and packing cotton within the same building.

We look forward to welcoming you to our truly Mancunian venue.

CityCo’s Event and Meeting Spaces are on the top floor of Lloyds House.

The heritage building is Grade-2 listed and although CityCo makes it a priority to be as accessible as possible, there are some restrictions due to the historic building.

Disability access is at our 18 Lloyd Street entrance where we do have lift access, however not all wheelchairs fit in the lift.

We have a mobile wheelchair ramp and folding wheelchair to assist. We also have an accessible toilet on the top floor.
