Our Covid Response

CityCo and Manchester BID understand that the health, safety and well-being of our staff and our event guests are paramount with Covid-19 in the new world. We have developed new ways of working based on up-to-date guidance provided by the government and industry bodies. These include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Fully prepared risk assessments to comply with hygiene, safety and social distancing
  • Staff wellness checks and social distancing
  • Enhanced cleaning regimes before, during and after events using correct chemicals focusing on all touch points, surfaces and equipment
  • Rooms structured for social distancing including adjusted tables, chairs and presentation layouts
  • Natural ventilation
  • Hand sanitiser stations and washing facilities
  • Stocks of disposable face masks if required
  • Clear signage throughout
  • Dedicated event coordinator support on the day
  • Post-booking ‘use of space’ guidance for all clients.

We have adjusted our capacities in The Shipping Office and The Cotton Room to 20 people and 4 people maximum.

We ask guests not to visit our venue if displaying any symptoms of Covid-19, however mild.

In compliance with the above we have been certified ‘Good to Go’ by Visit Britain, demonstrating CityCo is a Manchester venue that meets government and industry Covid-19 guidelines for cleanliness and social distancing.

Site Tours: For the personal safety of our visitors and staff, all site tours must be booked in advance at roomhire@cityco.com. If you prefer, we can also arrange a video call tour.

Our top priority is to make sure your day goes as smoothly, safely and enjoyably as possible.

We look forward to seeing you back in Lloyds House very soon.

CityCo Event & Meeting Spaces

Our events venue in Lloyd’s House on the corner of Albert Square offers impressive meeting rooms to host your corporate events: The Shipping Office and The Cotton Room.

The heritage building has a fascinating and unique history. Designed by the architectural practice of Speakman & Charlesworth in 1867 the site was originally for the ‘Manchester Shipping Office and Packing Company Ltd’ and was the city’s first purpose-built cotton packing warehouse.

Whether it’s for a small conference, seminar or training, meeting, pitch or presentation, celebration or away-day, art exhibition or photo-shoot, bring your colleagues to a heritage venue and event space in the heart of Manchester.

Do book in for a viewing to see the rooms and their beauty first-hand.

NB: Event Rooms Accessibility

CityCo’s Event and Meeting Spaces are on the top floor of Lloyds House. The heritage building is Grade-2 listed and although CityCo makes it a priority to be as accessible as possible, there are some restrictions due to the historic building. Disability access is at our 18 Lloyd Street entrance where we do have lift access, however not all wheelchairs fit in the lift. We have a mobile wheelchair ramp and folding wheelchair to assist. We also have an accessible toilet on the top floor. For those with mobility restrictions and/or for whom this may concern, please email roomhire@cityco.com and our staff will be happy to help and support in any way we can.
