Go Green! New trail launches to celebrate the city’s best outdoor gardens and green spaces.
Following The RHS Urban Show and to celebrate The Manchester Flower Festival (24th-27th May), city-goers are encouraged to discover relaxing green spaces this spring and summer.
Manchester Accommodation BID has launched a new Green Spaces Trail. This is the next published city trail for tourists, following the Accommodation BID’s Manchester LGBTQ+ Trail and Manchester Music Trail.
The Manchester Green Spaces Trail is written by Manchester’s top tour guide, Jonathan Schofield.
The trail aims to encourage tourists, shoppers, and workers to explore the green spaces dotted amongst our urban landscape.
There are 16 garden and water spaces within central Manchester and Salford to explore:
- Cotton Field Park
- Mayfield Park
- Sackville Gardens & Kampus
- Bridgewater Hall canalside
- Castlefield & Castlefield Viaduct
- St John’s Gardens
- Parsonage Gardens
- Cathedral Gardens & Glade of Light
- St Michael’s Flags & Angel Meadow Park
- Greengate Gardens
- Peel Park & the Meadow
- Middlewood Locks & Aviva Studios
- Ordsall Hall & Gardens
- Hulme Park & Deansgate Square
- All Saints Park
- Brunswick Park & University Green
Accompanying each entry is a description with historic and current facts about their site, significance – and beauty.
