Interested in learning more about Manchester city centre to support business operations and planning? We invite members to join us on regular walks highlighting some of the city’s most pivotal developments.

For our Spring tour, we’ll be joined by David Allinson, Centre Director of Manchester Arndale, who will take us behind the scenes of one of Europe’s largest inner-city shopping centres.

Attracting over 40 million visitors annually, the Arndale has been a cornerstone of Manchester city centre for nearly 50 years. When it first opened, it featured more than 200 shops, 200 market stalls, a bus station, rooftop aviary, rooftop houses, and pedestrian bridges spanning Market Street and Corporation Street.

A lot has changed since then.

This is a great opportunity to hear first-hand about how the Arndale operates today, along with plans for the future.
