Manchester City Centre: PAcT (Public Access Trauma) Kits

Manchester City Council runs a PAcT kit scheme supported by CityCo to ensure businesses have stock of this potentially life-saving equipment.

The scheme was set up following the Manchester Arena Inquiry.

A PAcT kit can be vital during a major incident – when people have been seriously injured – to help provide emergency care while waiting for emergency services.

Manchester has rolled out more than 200 kits to businesses, hotels, licensed venues, bars and restaurants. Inside each kit is protective equipment, trauma dressings, tourniquets and bandages. Instructions are included.

The scheme is supported by Figen Murray OBE, the mother of Martyn Hett who tragically died in the Arena attack. Figen is the driving force behind Martyn’s Law – national safety legislation.
