ACT Awareness Training
ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) Awareness training is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to public safety following the 2017 Manchester Arena attack.
The training is administrated by CityCo in partnership with Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Police and North West Counter Terrorism Unit.
It is delivered face-to-face by trained advisors from Protect UK and the NPSA (National Protective Security Authority) and supported by Figen Murray OBE as part of her campaigning work on Martyn’s Law.
Training content is designed to raise vigilance around the current terrorist threat in the UK and provide practical protective advice and guidance for businesses and employees.

Any venue with a Publicly Accessible Location (PAL) who is preparing for Martyn’s Law
Anyone who believes their venue may fall under Martyn’s Law requirements.
This session is available to all Manchester city centre businesses.

ACT Awareness E-Learning
The E-Learning package features up-to-date guidance from NaCTSO and the Guide Shelter Report (GSR). GSR is a set of response principles which businesses can use to respond effectively in the event of an attack.
GSR complements Protect UK’s well-known Run Hide Tell campaign.
