Manchester City Centre: ACT Awareness Training

Manchester businesses are invited to attend Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) Awareness Training. It is encouraged for all businesses operating a licensed premises in Manchester city centre.

ACT Awareness is part of the city’s commitment public safety following the 2017 Arena attack. The training is administrated by CityCo in partnership with Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Police and North West Counter Terrorism Unit.

The session is delivered by NaCTSO/Protect UK and National Protective Security Authority trained advisors.

Training content is designed to raise vigilance of the current terrorist threat to the UK and provide businesses with protective advice and guidance.

Who Should Attend

The training is for Venue Managers, Assistant GMs, Operations Managers, Bar Managers, Front of House.

Training Agenda

  • Introduction to Counter-Terrorism
  • Current Threat in the UK
  • Identifying and Responding to Suspicious Behaviour
  • Identifying and Dealing with Suspicious Items
  • Responding to a Firearms or Weapons Attack

PACT Kits

Attendees will also be taken through the city’s new PAcT Kit scheme at the end of the session, with guidance around how to use the First Aid Kits.
