Manchester Day: Saturday 29th July – Road Closures and Parking Restrictions

18th Jul 2023

Manchester Day 2023: Saturday 29th July

Manchester City Council is hosting a day of *free* family fun in the city centre co-produced with Walk the Plank. Expect holiday vibes with performers, musicians, entertainment, dance and shows.

As with previous Manchester Days, 70,000 people are expected to descend on the city, however the event will be in a new format. Instead of just a parade, it will be numerous activities across multiple locations.

The new format will encourage attendees to stay for a longer period, and move across the different areas of the city.

Many of the activities will take place in the BID district of Deansgate, Market Street, Exchange Square, New Cathedral Street, St Ann’s Square and St Mary’s Gate.

Part of Deansgate will be car-free.
