Please be aware of the planned celebrations for New Year’s Eve 31st December 2024 taking place in St Peter’s Square from 10pm onwards including DJ’s and a firework display at midnight.
There will be several temporary road closures including parking suspensions in place and suspension of the Metrolink running through St Peter’s Square from 8pm until the end of service.
Metrolink changes from 8pm to end of service are as follows:
- Altrincham to Deansgate Castlefield
- Bury to Ashton-under-Lyne
- East Didsbury to Cornbrook
- Eccles to Deansgate Castlefield (via Media City)
- Manchester Airport to Cornbrook
- Rochdale Town Centre to Victoria
- No services will operate on the Trafford Park Line

Unreserved accessible parking will be available on Mount Street
